My problem is, how do I access files in one machine from another? I feel that I am missing something very obvious, but it is hidden from me! I searched (Search within results) "Networking, Linux, Home, P2P, How To" on the net, and found too many results. I did not find any link which could help me in accessing (at least copying files from one computer to another) one computer from another.

I would highly appreciate any pointer to what I am missing and how to complete the networking.

The easiest option in a Windows - Linux environment is to configure Samba on the Linux machine. In Mandrake it should be very easy. There is some option in Mdk Control centre for sharing drives using SMB. Check that out. On the windows machine, share some folder (you have to start some service for that I think). Use network neighborhood in windows to access the Linux Samba share and Lin-neighborhood in Linux to access the Windows share.
Hope this helps.

Regards,
Aditya.
