I use the same card on an IBM PC 300GL at the office and it seems
to be okay at higher bpps and resolutions. I have the following
options:
Section "Device"
Identifier "Primary Card"
VendorName "Unknown"
BoardName "S3 Trio3D"
Option "sw_cursor"
Option "xaa_no_color_exp"
EndSection
Also, you may want to try playing with the MTRR registers. Read
on mtrr.txt in the Documentation directory of your Linux kernel
source tree.
