If it were in the FAQ (when we actually have a FAQ), maybe we could

Some people say it does because it DOES. Dido got it to work. My
cow-orker got it to work. Your not being able to get it to work proves
nothing.

Are you generalizing for _all_ S3 cards now, just because you weren't
able to get your specific card/model/version to work? I've had several
S3 cards (albeit not the 3d2x), and they all worked fine on Linux.
