ssh requires the target machine to have sshd or if not available rshd
which is non-secure.
telnet-ssl works more securely if the target runs ssl capable telnetd but
will fallback to using non-secure telnetd.
i know of a lot of ssh clients for windows, but haven't run into
telnet-ssl clients for windows yet. hmmm...
one thing i love about ssh though is that it provides scp (secure rcp)
which i don't think telnet-ssl provides at all.
one interesting thing you could do with telnet-ssl that i don't think you
can do with ssh is do a raw telnet to a secure http port and do the usual
stuff you can do when you telnet to an http port.
it might be a matter of interface only. the two are similar in terms of
function.
