Ian,

Thanks, I'm getting interested in this because if I can make use of the
existing Access database, then I don't have to relearn Linux-based databases
and perform migration.

Follow-up questions though,

a.) what need to do in order to enable the perl DBI/DBD ODBC module or is it
automatically enabled whenever I can run Perl CGI? What do I have to
configure in Linux?
b.) Can you recommend any resources (books? sites?) so I can study this
further, particularly the APIs for accessing ODBC databases such as Access?
c.) Can I also achieve database connectivity to an Access database via PHP
or PHP3?

BTW, just wanted to give you the reasons what I wanted to achieve here. I
have a dual-boot OS configuration and I currently have Redhat Linux 6.0 in
one of the partition and Windows 2000 Professional in another NTFS
partition. The Access database is in yet another FAT partition. My plan is
to be able to achieve database connectivity in from both Windows 2000 via
IIS 4.0 and Linux via Apache. I do most of my day-to-day work in Windows
environment while doing web development work in Linux (because web host
provider is in Linux). If I can work on the same database from both OS, then
that'll be a big help until the time that I'm adjusted to using Linux for
doing most of my work (checking e-mails, browsing, word-processing, etc.).
Am still learning the ropes in configuring the various web services in
Linux....
