1. what do you mean by VERY SIMPLE ip chains rule above ?  
   less secure ?

2. how will my linux start dialling automagically upon boot up ?
  manually,  i usually go to x-windows-> start-> internet->kppp->connect
  
3. now that ipmasq and ipchain is working in my box, it should start
   automagically upon boot up, so i placed the lines below at rc.local.
   is this fine ? or is there another way to do this ?

   ipchains -P forward DENY
   ipchains -A forward -i ppp0 -j MASQ
