Well the "update Windoze" menu item in Win98 is a useful clue.. M$ wants
to charge subscription rates for their OS, and all this (unsafe) online
updating cr*p they stuff in is to achieve that goal.

I won't be surprised if WinMe comes with a prepaid subscription service
for updates. Heck, NT no longer has free service packs last I heard. All
the infrastructure (if you call a rickety bamboo bridge infrastructure)
for online subscriptions and OS updates are actually in Win98/IE5 already.

On the other hand, we're talking about the people who created Microsoft
Bob. They can't be THAT devious..
