This is probably stating the obvious, but it WASN'T obvious to me for a
long time. If your host is running an ftp server (by default it probably
is. I think it's in inetd) then you automatically have ftp that is NOT
ANONYMOUS ftp. You ftp to your box and log in as the user who has the
files - login name, password. Like I said, this should be obvious - but
it wasn't for me.
