hi!
im compiling mysql-2.22.32 on a newly installed solaris 7.
after configure, make and make install, the howto document says i have
to add the mysql libraries to ldconfig file:

 echo "/usr/local/mysql/lib/mysql" >> /etc/ld.so.conf
 ldconfig -v |grep libmysqlclient

but i cant find ld.so.conf and ldconfig on my machine.

can i use mysql w/o adding it to ldconfig libraries? how do i have
ldconfig on my mahine?

thanks in adv,
inapatricia
