hi. sorry for another off-topic thing. i have a few simple (stupid?)
questions. everyday, root@mbb gets the ff msg:
---------- Forwarded message ----------
Date: Mon, 11 Feb 1980 04:02:02 +0800
From: Cron Daemon <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Subject: Cron <root@mbb> run-parts /etc/cron.daily
error: bad year 1980 for file /var/log/htmlaccess.log in state file
/var/lib/logrotate.status
---------------------------------------
the mbb server crashed a while back and when rh5.2 was reinstalled, the
date was set (i don't know why, it wasn't me) to jan 25 1980. then the
date was fixed on aug 3 from the feb 3 setting. it maintained the correct
date until inexplicably it returned to feb 6, on aug 6. the date was
corrected again. today it went back to feb 11. i corrected the date again.
root has been getting the error msg since reinstallation up to today.
what gives? is there something i can do to make the correction permanent?
i have two files named logrotate, one is logrotate.status and the other is
logrotate.status.804. they have the same contents and everything is set to
1980-1-25. if i change it to 2000-8-11, will it mess up the entire system?
i also looked at the htmlaccess.log, and there is nothing there (is that
the way it really is?). what do i do now? i've been asking the diliman
network people and i get no satisfactory answer (or they got tired of my
nagging hehe).
thanks in advance :)
