Not all crimping tools are created equal. Some are more equal than others.

Crimping for 10baseT cabling is not as picky or sensitive as for 100baseT.
I recall seeing special crimping tools/cable prep tools being sold at
Network expos and the like, so those things aren't just expensive foos for
nothing.
