xsetroot pala

it's part of the base X11 package.

on a related note, i just got urxvt (rxvt-unicode-5.5-3.fc3.i386.rpm
from RPMfind) and installed it on my centos 4.1 box. well... it uses
Xft just fine. i now have a replacement for gnome-terminal that eats
1/3rd the RAM! (7MB only)

still kinda weird compared to the time i ran netscape 3.0 + a bunch of
rxvt's and XAnim (movie player) on an 8MB 486DX2...
