hi all,
how fast does your desktop linux completely boot? completely boot
meaning until the harddisk stops reading and ur pc waits for events in
the gui. pls include significant hardware specs like distro, distro
version, cpu ghz, cpu cache, ram, harddisk rpm, pc/laptop model...
i'm just impressed with puppy linux 1.04 harddisk installed: 21
seconds in an r50e thinkpad (1.3ghz, 64kb cache {some r50e's have
512kb or 1mb}, 256mb ram
and i'm even more impressed when it boot'ed 41 seconds on a 200mhz,
64mb ram, 2gb hd old ibm pc from HMR. and top says there's ~20m of
unused RAM!
