For such things, a dedicated router such as a Cisco is infinitely
preferable, unless you foresee that the "router" will ultimately used
for much more than just routing in the near future (e.g. doing things
like proxy caching or whatnot).  There was a recent thread on a similar
issue (that time concerning GNU/Linux-based PC VPN gateways vs.
dedicated VPN appliances) a month or two ago, and I hope this doesn't
touch off the same arguments all over again.
