Well, not really being a "hero". I'd say just being able to do what you
can -- nothing heroic. It might be giving away CD's, telling someone
about an alternative, or just pointing them to something that might be
useful.

I believe in selfless service when you're called to serve. If you feel
like you can make a difference, then try. No need to aim for heroic
proportions. Maybe just introducing someone to someone else (or a
community like PLUG) will be enough for you to make a difference for
your cause.

But then that would mean that you need to take a side, or pick up a
cause. Sometimes it's better to have a purpose and go about your
everyday life living for a purpose than just constantly waiting it out.
But that is, sometimes -- not always.

And since necessity is the mother of invention, there's a need right now
for an alternative -- or something -- to allow our neighbors to actually
be able to do something about their (usually) primary source of income.
Trying to help is the least we can do as a good neighbor.

After all, at the end of your day, that's what matters most anyway --
how you've helped your neighbor and how you're appreciated by others. Or
not. ;)
