Just to clarify, IIRC, the domain name linux.org.ph was provided for by Doc Mana, IRC services are hosted at UP Manila courtesy of Ariel Betan and myself. The other services are provided by Ian and Jijo personally and not as a representatives of their company, as I understand it. PLUG has always been composed of people from different institutions, companies, groups, what have you. It is not and should not be dominated by any single group, which is why it is open to membership to anyone who is interested. If you feel that one group of people have lorded it over, you are mistaken. The current Board of Directors is composed of people from different sectors and companies and institutions. The membership of PLUG also emanates from different groups. Not any single company. PLUG is not ruled by any one company nor is it governed by a "fraternity". If your definition of fraternity is a group of like-minded individuals with a ssimilar cause, then perhaps PLUG is a fraternity for Linux fans. If you are dissatisfied with the way PLUG is being run, then provide constructive criticism in the mailing list with your identity and what you propose to fix the problems you see. That is the way Free/Open Source works, and for our organization, it works the same way. Don't wait for the Board to fix problems that you see. They might not see the problems that you do. Your involvement determines the direction that the organization proceeds. If you remain silent, then the bugs will stay there until someone else steps up to the plate and fixes them. Until then, don't hold your breath because the Board and the officers are working on the problems and issues that they are aware of and can do something about. -- ___ Eric Pareja (xenos AT upm.edu.ph) | Information Management Service [IMS] \e/ Network and Systems Administrator | University of the Philippines Manila _v_ [ http://www.upm.edu.ph/~xenos ][GPG: B82E42D9][http://tinyurl.com/68dkm] "Ang hindi marunong magmahal ng sariling wika ay higit pa sa malansang isda."
