marvin,

maybe you can ask mediag8way if there can be a partnership of sort as far as this event is concerned...that's if the event will be an annual thing.  i agree that the next board will decide on this although i hope that they'll carry on what has been started.
as for the coming together of the LUGs into one big organization, the local LUGs would want to search for answers to "what's in it for me?" and "what's in it for all of us?"  what are the benefits to each LUG...to all LUGs as a whole...for the long-term.  if there's no benefit, we let things be...hope that each LUG will grow and continue promoting f/oss+linux.

i think one practical benefit for all LUGs is providing support for one another...technical or otherwise.  there's always strength in numbers.  the question is if all LUGs agree to band together or not.

regards,
sammy

It was organized by the MediaG8way. They just contacted me and ask for
our support. They asked help if PLUG can provide speakers for the said
event. I made it sure that all speakers should get benefits in return
and likewise the organization in black and white.

I'm not sure if this will be an annual event. I even don't know who
will be the next board officers. I already shared my plans for the
organization to the meeting we conducted at the Dusit Hotel Nikko right
after the conference. It's up to the next board officers if they will
work it out. Anyway, diskarte na nila 'yun how they will handle the
organization.

It is also my dream that all the LUGs nationwide should collaborate and
be affiliated with PLUG as my dream to PLUG to be the umbrella LUG in
the Philippines.

Good luck to the next board officers.
