i had the impression that the thread context is in cheaplandia where
telco-class scenarios are irrelevant. kaya nga i was even checking out
linux against a "2nd-hand bare-minimum 3640". is there a telco very so
into getting 2nd-hand router stuff proably without after-sales service
agreements?
1) I do know that several large ISP's buy stuff second-hand with no after-sales service. Comclark is even making a big business out of this
2) if you're in cheaplandia, and you're doing BGP in production, you're doing something wrong. BGP != cheap.
