I think this is not a postfix problem but an Imap
server or a squirrelmail configuration problem,
postfix is just the MTA.
Check your IMAP server logs see if you can find
anything in there, normally when squirrelmail times
out the folder is too big or the imap server is
crashing. I would also look at squirrelmail maybe it's
just squirrelmail :).
