i don't think that's a discriminating judgment. most people are lazy, i'm not ashamed to say that i'm lazy. Larry Wall says that all programmers are lazy, and i'm not going to disagree with him. but.. a little proactiveness never hurt anyone!! i see this sort of behavior all over the place (not just Linux). people just ask, and then they get pissed off when nobody answers.
