The point is that, it is difficult to deal with government. That is why NGOs abound in this country because NGOs see themselves having a better formula for development, a process of development that is free from red tape and bidding.

But with the controversies hounding the NGOs now, we doubt if indeed there is less red tape and corruption. For me, I choose not to work with the national government--I better work here in the provincial/regional governments--because when the time comes that Manila will destroy itself from corruption, too much politicking, too much EDSA revolutions, too much Mendiola hosing--I still have a province to live in thats free from the noise and probably more developed and happier people.
