i did. i read every bit about the mkfs.reiser (?) utility but my skull must be 
extra thick because even if the utility did not report any error i could not 
mount the created filesystem. i only mentioned that personal experience to 
imply that using wizards and guis are perfectly fine if you are running out of 
time and can put off learning the basics until another time. unfortunately i 
did not put it to drive home the point. :)
