Sometimes you need to disguise your wget so that it looks like it's coming in from a browser and not a download agent.  Some sites discourage download agents.

Next time, try including the --user-agent="Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.0b1; Windows NT 5.1*) " or something to your wget request.
