Something like this should work:
grant all privileges on test.* to 'guest'@' 192.168.1.2' identified by 's33kr3t';
what IP shouild I use? the computer that I am connecting to is connected to a LAN and all the workstations have the same IP address....are you sure about this? all clients have the same ip address, how did that happen? does your mysql server have a public ip? if it does then you can use phpmyadmin to administer your database and make sure that apache and php are installed to make it work. if the network address of the server your trying to access is the same as your LAN then you have to open up the mysql port in your firewall/router and use vpn to connect to it.
