I think Bayan Muna Representatives might get interested with our efforts last September of 2005 when we conducted the first ever Open Source Literacy Project for the Out-of-School Youth in San Antonio, Ozamiz City duly funded and supported by BAYAN MUNA. With that we were recognized by the International Grades in Office Techonolgy ( www.theINGOTs.org) as their first academy here in the Philippines.

the gov't policy. this is one scenario that could
happen here in the philippines.
lastly, there is no guarantee or assurance that the
bill will be enacted into a law. with the present
composition of this House, it's a long shot to enact
such a bill. all bill gates has to do is buy some
congressmen to shoot down the bill. but then, we
might as well try, there is no harm in trying, right?
at the minimum, open source /FLOSS will be promoted,
hopefully debated upon in the committee/plenary level.
also, we have to have a senator to sponsor a similar
if not the same bill.
at any rate, promoting knowledge and exposure for the
OSS and open source community are good enough for me.
for people to know that there is an alternative to
proprietary software is already a big thing.
rest assured that we'll do anything we can to have a
good bill. all suggestions will be considered. maybe
in 2 to 3 weeks time, we'll finish the draft. i will
post it here.
