Drafting the FOSS bill, however, is no small joke; the way I see it,
one has to be careful, lest this bill blows up in front of us later on
in some unanticipated event, and find ourselves the laughingstock.
Now, we don't want some more shame on ourselves now, don't we?

Damn right, you are. I remember another law -- which, I think, Rep.
Casin~o knows very well -- the Campus Journalism Act. The College
Editors Guild of the Philippines (CEGP), where Teddy was the former
president (I was with the national secretariat, but after his stint
already), was very active in legislating that into law, only to find
out later on that the same law was being used against the sector --
the student journalists -- it was supposed to protect.

So, to Bayan Muna, et al: take heed of this: let the CJA be a lesson.
We have learned from this, and learned hard -- I was one of the
victims of this law. Think about that when pushing for the FOSS bill.
