Quoting Carlos Yu <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:

Does anyone have first hand experience on the differences between a Cisco Wireless vs. a regular Linksys. Pricing on the Cisco Aironet 11 MBPS access point with high-gain antenae is about seven times more. BTW, we aren;t doing anything special with the equipment...just wireless access. Thanks.

CISCO's Aironet has better reception and often-times more transmit power although it's not for last-mile connectivity, some standard enterprise features like EAP, RADIUS, etc, as well as support for some extended functionality when combined with their software. Otherwise, it's pretty standard.

Some would say that the Linksys WRT has flakey connectivity, although YMMV.

Is it for indoor or outdoor use? What Aironet AP model are you evaluating?
