How is Scalix performing? Any feedback (good AND bad) from your users your

I'm thinking of moving my mail users into a web-app like Scalix or Zimbra.

Hello Michael,

I have set up and am currently administrating a Scalix 10 server (with
Clamav and Spamassassin running). We currently have 13 users only so
my experiences here are only limited to running a small user base.

Installation was not as complex as I would have expected. You need at
least 512MB of RAM to install though and you need a DNS entry for your
server. For integrating Clamav and Spamassassin, I just followed the
instructions in the Support Wiki.

The Scalix Community forums at http://www.scalix.com/community is very
helpful and I sometimes find myself looking at some of the answers to
my queries by doing a search instead of asking directly.

The only thing I could probably say against Scalix is that using the
Scalix Connector for Outlook is very slow. But then I don't really
know if it's because of the protocol (MAPI) or because of the
geographical distance (the server's in Sydney while the Outlook
clients connecting are in the Philippines). In such cases, I would
recommend that remote users use Scalix Web Access instead (the webmail
component).
