RP software association opposes open source bill

AFTER public discussions on the House bill on free and open source
software (FOSS), the Philippine Software Industry Association (PSIA) urged
lawmakers to step back and rethink its position, the organizations
leader said.
I would just like to reiterate how Teddy Casino asked PSIA's
representative - would they be unable to compete? For me, I don't think
so... they'd just have to adapt and move on if ever. That happens
everytime.
Anyway, what bothers me more is PICS telegraphing their moves to push
for ... tada... SOFTWARE PATENTS!
