Thanks, Eric. After reading more about zmailer, it seems that my more important requirement is the fastest mailer (MTA nga pala...) available. Given the speeds bandied about, mailing is quite slow that queues will probably not build up as I thought they would...
My own browsing has turned up Ecelerity (fastest MTA on earth daw) and postfix among the claimants.
