Im working on purely UNIX shop for Oracle which are now in the process of concluding the 3 year hardware and OS migration. But time is clearly changing, our CIO gave us a memo today, the next migration, update or new projects it will be Linux because of lower cost per unit of processing power for Unix environments. Enterprise grade Intel hardware for server environments that require less than 8 CPU cores costs 25% of the equivalent RISC.
So far the Redhat is the choice distro but it maybe OEL later as it all depends on the cost of business and the option to use MySQL is also there. On 2/14/07, Harish Pillay <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:

Would you really buy "OEL" because of the Oracle name? Are CIOs that naive? From all the CIOs I have had a chance to talk to, the common trend is that they rather *not* have to fork out to Oracle any more than they are already being forced to and to become beholden to one vendor aka vendor lock-in.
