So how do you make IP address assigments for your workstations?  It
seems that you're not using DHCP anyway, and have assigned these
addresses statically, so maybe you should just make a local zone file
for an arbitrary top-level domain that is not used outside, e.g.
suysing.internal, and add records for each of the machines you want to
be able to resolve.  This is what we do.
