According to Lawrence Guirre: > I've used vi(m) exclusively when doing admin and programming tasks that > navigating around it > feels second nature. So second nature that sometimes when I write email > (Thunderbird) or IM > I instinctively press ESC, expecting I would exit edit mode..... :P
Ha ha ha. Lawrence, we're all spoiled brats of mother vim, after all. With mutt, with which I'm using vim as my mail editor, I'm used to pressing <esc>:wqy (without any file attachment) to send an email. I oftentimes tend to do the same trick even when I'm using Gmail. :-) What I love more about mother vim are her: 1. Watching my language syntax; 2. Understanding my regular expressions; 3. Allowing me to be in an escape mode; and many many more.
