Hi Junji, I urge you take a look at VMware converter (http://www.vmware.com/products/converter/) if you intend to use VMware server.
There is a free starter edition that allows you to "convert" one job at a time. You can convert a physically running machine into a vmware virtual machine and load it up on VMware server. You can also use it to convert virtual machine images from different vendors to VMware virtual machines.
