Does Ctrl-Alt-Backspace works when it hangs? Ctrl-Alt-F1?
When it hangs again, reboot to Recovery mode then check /var/log/Xorg.0.log if
there are any error. Baka nagse-segfault ang X.

It's a laptop, it's not overclocked. The problem doesn't occur in Windows.
The radeon xpress 200m card uses the default xorg drivers.
The problem is that, the problem is intermittent. I can't seem to get a fix on
what's causing the problem.
