I believe http is a valid service type definition for DNS RR records, so, yeah, that may be possible. You still have to deal with session affinity, though. Better to go the load-balancing route, and if you're worried about the load balancer as the SPOF, get two (or more) load balancers (hot-cold, of course). -- Ian Dexter R.
