dns round robin is ok but let it point to your directors instead of
directly pointing to the web servers. then let the directors point to
your application server farm. now it depends if what is your
application server is or if you have something similar in your own
architechture. me i have tried j2ee. i have 3 tomcat servers mounted
on 3 http servers (acting as directors) which is in a dns round robin.
each http server have the same configuration having access to the 3
tomcat servers. moreover, they are in a load-balanced configuration.
now tomcat servers' sessions are replicated by javagroups.
