Ha ha ha ha!!! You got a home run with that statement! It's been what I'm saying for the longest time. It's expensive (you almost lose your soul to your employer for it) and the preparation is very distracting from daily work. Until we started losing some sales this year to our competitors who hyped up their certifications --but who can't code even if their was a gun pointed at their head. So we responded and got the same stuff. /* On a more macro level, I'm finding that there are a *lot* of I.T. graduates who got out of school, without even knowing how to assemble a PC. I find it really sad. */ On the plus side, skill certfications *may* open doors for you (it's not guaranteed!). But it'll be your practical experience and problem-solving skills that will help you provide real solutions.
