that depends on your long-term goal with regards to your career. for example, if you're planning to work for company that requires a certified professional (RHCE or LPI), then you should get one.
but you also have to determine on which technology to specialize with. for example, a certified PHP developer (ZCE) might also be doing some security/audit stuff as part of his/her previous projects. so instead of taking CISSP or GIAC, he/she should take GSSP-PHP (GIAC Secure Software Programmer using PHP) instead.
