If your company doesn't pay up for your certification... you should find another company. :-)
I was lucky in that I only took the exam (major cost savings), but like many others I'm not current anymore. It's not an issue though -- I'm not involved in any way in the "Unbreakable Linux" initiative so my Linux certification is useless.
