i say, for every non-spam message that goes to your spam mailbox,
tag it as non-spam. it moves to the right place, and then if
gmail has an adaptive filter, it'll learn.

i think gmail must have an adaptive filter, else, there wouldn't
be much point to marking an email spam (you could just delete it).

it may be a *dumb* adaptive filter :-). but it can probably
learn if everyone will mark non-spam correctly. it may also
be that non-friends of plug are subscribed and marking everything
spam :-). that's a slow but sneaky way to get all mail from
plug marked as spam by gmail :-)

I just looked in my spam mailbox. There are only 7 messages from
plug. Of course, I never look on www.gmail.com, I read my mail
in evolution. So there might have been old plug mail that's been
purged since.
