Hi, -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Orlando Andico Sent: Tuesday, October 23, 2007 1:05 AM To: Philippine Linux Users' Group (PLUG) Technical Discussion List Subject: [SPAM] - Re: [plug] [OT]IT Instructor - Email found in subject
This is just sad. My first reaction was "who the heck would want to work in San Isidro, Nueva Ecija?" -- These are people who wants to make a difference. Then my second thought was, who cares enough to work in San Isidro, Nueva Ecija? surely there are people there who can benefit from the collective store of knowledge lurking on this list, right? But the big question is, who would make what's undeniably a personal sacrifice (not to mention career hara-kiri) by going there. -- IIRC GMA7 produced a segment showing doctors (graduated with honors) and teachers as well that instead of applying for a job abroad they opted to work on those isolated areas. Do you think that these professionals are mentally disturbed? I've had my share of conducting training and brown bag sessions for students in the provinces. And, while it's appreciated, I don't think it's that useful. What's needed is follow-through. Some hot shot dropping in every 3 to 6 months and babbling about some technology just isn't that useful, these students need someone there 100%. -- Yes, that is true but you can't say that your hard work is useless. Unless you were able to track all you students. But all of the decent IT types I see out of the provinces can't wait to get out of the provinces. -- Imagine all people went to manila.. Peace!
