Older nVidia cards require only one. My 6600 only has one fan. Older models do'nt even need a fan. The newly released (2 days ago) 8800-GT only requires 1 fan. Besides, on Linux, nVidia has the most decent support. The main competitor's Linux support, at least for now, is a joke compared to what nVidia offers. Maybe that will change now that AMD helping in the efforts in creating good open source drivers. -- Gideon N.
