may I also add that a lot of mailing list subscribers are not PLUG members. If PLUG can translate mailing list subscription into actual memberships (lower down membership fees?) it might also plug the PLUG financial deficit. (no pun intended)
Aside from paid training, PLUG can also do paid consulting. Although a lot of members are already doing this, and most would disagree. Also, PLUG can be the medium for job placement, with whom head hunting firms can tap to provide linux-oriented sysads/netads/IT people. Of course, PLUG should be paid fees for that too.
