I'm not really a Fedora Core user (last I used was Core 3), but I just read 
the Release Notes. Have you tried this (from fedoraproject.org 
http://tinyurl.com/3bn25n):

"Bug 239585 - On certain systems, the CD/DVD may hang during boot with 
message 'Ready'. Most of the bugs that caused this are thought to be fixed, 
though on some systems adding 'edd=skipmbr' to the kernel command line, works 
around this issue."
