Hi,

Looks okay... I'm Assuming here that you will be using the desktop components.

1. Since 4Gb of memory, go for centOS 64bit. 64bit will see all memory.

If 32bit, you will only see 3 +/- Gb of memory at most, and you have
to use highmem or PAE kludge/workaround just to see 4Gb. FYI, all
32bit OS on the X86 are affected by this, not only Linux. And besides,
32bit apps will still work anyway.

2. Asus mobo. As much as possible:
  * Go for 4 memory slots. Possibility of adding memory in the future.
6 or more slots mobos are more expensive though.
  * Go for 6 SATA ports. Future expansion of HDD in the future.
  * Go for mobos with onboard video. You will not use it, but gives
you flexibility of connecting a monitor if needed.
  * All of these are only a few pesos more.

3. Power Supply. If you can, go for 600watts, the better. 480watts are
okay, but adding HDD in the future would not be a problem.

4. You have not mentioned the casing. It's important. If it's a
desktop casing, go for casings which can accommodate 4 or more HDD.
One example case that i like, is the Nine Hundred Ultimate Gamer Case.
Though for gamers, i love that it has 6 HDD and fans blowing on the
HDD. The temperature of the HDD dropped from 39C to 32C just because
of this. There are a lot of oversize fans everywhere on this baby.

5. If you are comfortable with SW RAID 1 on Linux, then go for it. I
still don't trust consumer built-in HW RAID. SW raid taking up
cpu/memory is a thing of the past when you are dealing with Pentium
200Mhz few years ago. With a Core 2 Dualies @ 2.2Ghz, SW raid resource
is negligible to the system.
