hmmm...libc.so.6 is provided by the glibc package. you may have updated 
something prior to this error or tampered with the said file. you can probably 
use a live cd to mount ur file system and then restore the original file.

Message        Same  here. Had a kernel panic problem on my test server running 
Centos 5 this  morning. It did not boot after resetting so I just removed a RAM

Hi Ric,

Looks like a      hardware issue to me (assuming that you did not changed
anything before      the crash like kernel or system upgrade).
HDD/(or in RAID) and RAM are      the usual culprits.
can you also send the exact kernel panic message to      the list.



   I agree, we had a similar issue with one of our client's server, it just    
a case of defective RAM. Upon replacing the RAM the server is back up and    
running again.
