yup and take note there is a filter to compress text only as you
cannot benefit compression for example graphic files, mp3s, *.tar.gz
and other files that were already compressed... same true on the disk
scenario... therefore the compression module must be intelligent
enough to decides which file format is to compress and not...

it really depends because it is a tradeoff between space and time...
but compression technology has its place always...
