I would disagree.  Looking at ubuntuforums.org, more people refer to the 
versions with the adjective part of the codename (warty, edgy, feisty, gutsy, 
hardy, and intrepid).  Even in launchpad.  I believe, this is the more popular 
monicker of the ubuntu versions.  IMO.

It's actually Ubuntu 8.04 LTS :) Hardy Heron is just the codename for the 
development version of the said release. Once a release is done, we don't refer 
to the distro on the code name anymore but with the release version.
