Dunno if I'm the right Mike, but...

I use: vmrun start <path to .vmx file>

If you're talking about starting a backup from another server, I make sure the
VMs are set to "Always Keep". You'll get the prompt the first time you run a
VM for the first time in a new host using the vmware gui console.

Mike,

I'm assuming you run vmware-cmd to start up the virtual machines after they
have been backed up? How did you get past the error message that says user
intervention is required and the VM cannot start up? (VMControl error -16:
Virtual machine requires user input to continue)

can i ask what command you used? i tried a bunch of different ways and it
wont work for me... or is there a setting that you need to set on your vmware
image?

Hey Mike, thanks for the response. Actually that's what I have right
now. But I'm looking for further implementation aside from this.

Thanks,
Mike
